Ingredients

  • 500 grams All-purpose flour
  • 10 grams Active dry yeast
  • 25 grams Sugar
  • 10 grams Salt
  • 5 grams Hops, dried
  • 320 milliliters Water
  • 20 milliliters Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

Begin by brewing a simple hop tea. Bring 100 milliliters of water to a boil, add the dried hops, and let steep for 10 minutes. Strain and cool to room temperature.

Step 2

In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, active dry yeast, sugar, and salt. Mix well.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, mix 220 milliliters of warm water, the cooled hop tea, and olive oil.

Step 4

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing continuously to form a sticky dough.

Step 5

Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.

Step 6

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 to 1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.

Step 7

Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F).

Step 8

Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the gas, then shape it into a loaf and place it on a parchment-lined baking sheet or in a greased loaf pan.

Step 9

Cover the loaf again and let it rise for another 30 minutes.

Step 10

Brush the top of the dough with a little olive oil, and if desired, make several light slashes on the top with a sharp knife.

Step 11

Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

Step 12

Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
