Ingredients

  • 1 cup Warm water
  • 1 third cup Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Butter (softened)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1.5 cups Whole wheat flour
  • 1.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons Dry milk powder
  • 2.25 teaspoons Active dry yeast

Directions

Step 1

Add warm water, honey, softened butter, and salt to the bread machine pan in the order recommended by the manufacturer.

Step 2

Add the whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, and dry milk powder to the pan.

Step 3

Make a small well in the center of the flour and add the active dry yeast, ensuring it does not come into direct contact with the water.

Step 4

Set the bread machine to the 'Dough' cycle and start. Allow the machine to knead and rise the dough as per the cycle settings.

Step 5

When the dough cycle is complete, transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface. Gently punch down the dough to remove any air bubbles.

Step 6

Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a smooth round ball and place them on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet, spaced slightly apart.

Step 7

Cover the rolls loosely with a clean kitchen towel and let them rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until they have doubled in size.

Step 8

Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 9

Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.

Step 10

Remove the rolls from the oven and let them cool slightly on a wire rack before serving.
