Ingredients

  • 2 pieces Black tea bags
  • 240 milliliters Boiling water
  • 120 milliliters Honey
  • 250 grams All-purpose flour
  • 10 grams Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoons Salt
  • 60 grams Butter, melted
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and line a loaf pan with parchment paper for easy removal later.

Step 2

Place the black tea bags in a cup, pour the boiling water over them, and let steep for 5 minutes. Remove and discard the tea bags, and allow the tea to cool to room temperature.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

Step 4

In a separate bowl, mix the cooled tea, honey, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth and well blended.

Step 5

Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl of dry ingredients and gently fold them together using a spatula. Do not overmix; stir just until no dry streaks remain.

Step 6

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.

Step 7

Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Step 8

Remove the bread from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and serving.
