Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs Chicken breast
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 cup Cornstarch
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 cups Vegetable oil
  • 0.5 cup Honey
  • 3 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp Water
  • 2 stalks Green onions

Directions

Step 1

Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces and season them with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Set aside.

Step 2

In a bowl, whisk the eggs. In a separate bowl, add 1 cup of cornstarch.

Step 3

Dip each piece of chicken into the cornstarch, then into the egg, ensuring each piece is thoroughly coated. Repeat with all chicken pieces and set them on a clean plate.

Step 4

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, fry the chicken in batches until golden brown and crispy (about 4 minutes per batch). Remove and set on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Step 5

In a small saucepan, combine the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture starts to simmer.

Step 6

In a small bowl, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water to create a slurry. Slowly add the slurry to the simmering sauce, whisking continuously, until the sauce thickens (about 1-2 minutes). Remove from heat.

Step 7

Place the fried chicken in a large bowl and pour the honey sauce over the chicken. Toss to coat evenly.

Step 8

Garnish with chopped green onions and serve immediately over steamed rice or noodles. Enjoy!
