Ingredients

  • 400 grams sugar snap peas
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 3 tablespoons roasted almonds or cashews
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • 0.25 teaspoons salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Wash the sugar snap peas under cold water and trim the ends if needed.

Step 2

Finely mince the garlic cloves.

Step 3

Toast the almonds or cashews in a dry skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden and fragrant. Remove from the heat and chop them roughly. Set aside.

Step 4

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter until it starts to bubble.

Step 5

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, but not browned.

Step 6

Add the sugar snap peas to the skillet and cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring often, until they turn bright green and start to become tender-crisp. Adjust the heat to medium-high if needed.

Step 7

Stir in the honey, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 1-2 minutes to allow the peas to become evenly coated with the glaze.

Step 8

Remove the skillet from heat and immediately stir in the toasted nuts. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top if using.

Step 9

Transfer the honey nut snap peas to a serving dish and serve warm.
