Ingredients

  • 4 slices Sourdough bread
  • 200 grams Cooked turkey breast slices
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 1.5 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 1 handful Baby spinach (optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a small bowl, mix the honey and Dijon mustard until well combined.

Step 2

Spread the honey Dijon mixture evenly on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.

Step 3

On two slices of the bread (spread side up), layer one slice of Swiss cheese, half of the turkey slices, a handful of spinach (if using), and another slice of Swiss cheese.

Step 4

Top each sandwich with the remaining slices of bread, spread side down, to form two sandwiches.

Step 5

Butter the outsides of the sandwiches generously, using 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter per sandwich (half on each side).

Step 6

Preheat a panini press to medium heat or heat a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 7

Place the sandwiches in the panini press and cook for 4-6 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted. If using a skillet, press down gently with a spatula or place another pan on top, flipping halfway through for even cooking.

Step 8

Remove the panini from the heat, slice each sandwich in half, and serve immediately while hot.
