Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Chicken wings
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 Eggs
  • 0.5 cup Milk
  • 4 cups Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 0.25 cup Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Hot sauce (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels and cut them into drumettes and flats if necessary.

Step 2

In a bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk to create an egg wash.

Step 4

Dip each wing piece into the flour mixture, then into the egg wash, and back into the flour mixture. Shake off any excess flour and place the wings on a wire rack to rest for 10 minutes.

Step 5

In a large, deep pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C) over medium heat. Use a candy or deep-fry thermometer to monitor the temperature.

Step 6

Fry the wings in small batches for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 165°F/74°C). Place the fried wings on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Step 7

In a saucepan over low heat, combine the BBQ sauce, honey, butter, and hot sauce (if using). Stir until the butter is melted and the sauce is smooth and warm.

Step 8

Toss the fried wings in the honey BBQ sauce until well coated. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley if desired.
