Ingredients

  • 500 grams Fresh raspberries
  • 250 grams Granulated sugar
  • 750 milliliters Vodka (neutral, high-proof)
  • 1 piece Vanilla bean (optional)
  • 250 milliliters Water

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the raspberries thoroughly under cold water and let them dry on a clean towel.

Step 2

If using a vanilla bean, split it lengthwise and scrape out the seeds with the back of a knife. Set both the seeds and the pod aside.

Step 3

In a large sterilized jar or glass container with an airtight lid, combine the raspberries and vanilla beans (if using).

Step 4

Pour the vodka over the raspberries, ensuring they are fully submerged. Seal the jar tightly and store it in a cool, dark place.

Step 5

Shake the jar gently every 2–3 days for 3 weeks to infuse the vodka with raspberry flavor.

Step 6

After 3 weeks, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a clean bowl to remove the raspberries and solids. Reserve the infused liquid and discard the solids.

Step 7

In a small saucepan, combine the water and granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves completely. Allow the syrup to cool to room temperature.

Step 8

Once cooled, mix the sugar syrup into the raspberry-infused vodka. Stir well to combine.

Step 9

Transfer the finished framboise into sterilized glass bottles or jars with airtight lids.

Step 10

Store the liqueur in a cool, dark place for an additional 1–2 weeks to mellow the flavors (optional). The framboise can be enjoyed immediately but improves with age.

Step 11

Serve chilled or use in cocktails. Enjoy!
