Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and line the bottom of a 9-inch (23 cm) round springform cake pan with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Add the cold cubed butter to the dry ingredients. Using your fingertips or a pastry cutter, work the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
