Ingredients

  • 10 cups Popped popcorn
  • 4 cups Mini marshmallows
  • 6 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Holiday-themed M&M's
  • 0 as needed Cooking spray or butter (for hands)

Directions

Step 1

Prepare a large mixing bowl by filling it with the popped popcorn. Remove any unpopped kernels to ensure an even texture. Set aside.

Step 2

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium-low heat. Once melted, add the mini marshmallows and stir continuously with a silicone spatula until fully melted and smooth.

Step 3

Remove the marshmallow mixture from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt until well combined.

Step 4

Quickly pour the melted marshmallow mixture over the bowl of popcorn and gently toss with a lightly oiled spatula until the popcorn is uniformly coated.

Step 5

Allow the mixture to cool slightly, about 2 minutes, then fold in the holiday-themed M&M's. Mix gently to avoid melting the candy coating.

Step 6

Lightly grease your hands with cooking spray or butter. Using your hands, grab a handful of the coated popcorn mixture and shape it into a ball about 3 inches in diameter. Repeat until all of the mixture has been used. If the mixture becomes sticky, reapply the grease to your hands as needed.

Step 7

Place the finished popcorn balls on a sheet of wax paper or parchment paper to cool completely and set, about 20-30 minutes.

Step 8

Serve the popcorn balls immediately, or wrap them individually in plastic wrap for storage. These are best enjoyed within 2 days for maximum freshness and crunch.
