Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Chicken wings (cut into drumettes and flats)
  • 0.333 cup Hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger (grated)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 2 stalks Green onions (sliced, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes. Whisk until the marinade is smooth and well incorporated.

Step 2

Add the chicken wing pieces to the bowl and toss to coat them thoroughly in the marinade. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight for deeper flavor.

Step 3

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top. Lightly grease the wire rack to prevent sticking.

Step 4

Arrange the marinated chicken wing pieces on the wire rack in a single layer. Reserve any remaining marinade for basting.

Step 5

Bake the wings in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Remove the wings, baste them with the reserved marinade, and flip them over. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the wings are browned and slightly caramelized, and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Step 6

Once done, remove the wings from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes.

Step 7

Transfer the wings to a serving platter and garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve immediately and enjoy!
