  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon Water
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 3 units Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 units Green onions, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
  • 2 cups Cooked white rice (optional, for serving)

Directions

Step 1

Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized strips and set aside.

Step 2

In a small bowl, combine hoisin sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, and water. Mix well until smooth and set the sauce aside.

Step 3

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

Step 4

Add the chicken strips and cook for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and fully cooked. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the skillet.

Step 6

Stir in the minced garlic and ginger, cooking for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 7

Add the broccoli florets and sauté for 4-5 minutes, stirring frequently, until bright green and tender-crisp.

Step 8

Return the cooked chicken to the skillet with the broccoli.

Step 9

Pour the sauce over the chicken and broccoli, stirring to ensure everything is evenly coated.

Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and glaze the ingredients.

Remove from heat and sprinkle with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, if using.

Step 12

Serve immediately over cooked white rice, if desired.
