Ingredients

  • 500 grams lean ground beef
  • 50 grams almond flour (or any low-carb flour for binding)
  • 1 piece large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for frying)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, almond flour, egg, minced garlic, smoked paprika, ground cumin, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley.

Step 2

Using your hands or a spatula, mix the ingredients thoroughly until the mixture is well combined and holds together.

Step 3

Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a small patty, about 1 cm thick.

Step 4

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.

Step 5

Once the oil is hot, place the patties into the skillet, ensuring they don’t overcrowd the pan. You may need to work in batches.

Step 6

Cook each patty for 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until fully cooked and the internal temperature reaches 70°C (160°F).

Step 7

Remove the tortitas from the skillet and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.

Step 8

Serve immediately while hot. These can be served on their own, with a side salad, or alongside roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
