Ingredients

  • 300 grams beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 200 grams whole wheat noodles
  • 60 ml soy sauce, low sodium
  • 30 ml oyster sauce
  • 15 ml hoisin sauce
  • 15 ml honey
  • 10 grams cornstarch
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 10 grams ginger, minced
  • 1 medium carrot, julienned
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 200 grams broccoli, cut into small florets
  • 100 grams baby spinach
  • 2 stalks green onions, sliced
  • 15 ml toasted sesame oil
  • 15 ml vegetable oil
  • 10 grams sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

1. In a small bowl, prepare the marinade and sauce by combining soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, and cornstarch. Mix until smooth.

Step 2

2. Place the sliced beef in a large bowl, add half of the marinade, and let it sit for 15 minutes while you prep other ingredients. Reserve the remaining sauce for later.

Step 3

3. Cook the whole wheat noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain, rinse with cold water, and set aside.

Step 4

4. Heat 7 ml of vegetable oil in a large non-stick skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned but not fully cooked. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.

Step 5

5. In the same skillet, add the remaining vegetable oil. Stir in the minced garlic and ginger, then cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 6

6. Add the broccoli florets, carrot, and red bell pepper to the skillet. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.

Step 7

7. Return the cooked beef to the skillet along with the baby spinach. Stir in the reserved sauce and cook for another 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to combine and the spinach to wilt.

Step 8

8. Add the cooked noodles to the skillet, drizzle with toasted sesame oil, and toss everything together until evenly coated and heated through.

Step 9

9. Serve the stir-fried noodles hot. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.
