Ingredients

  • 500 g beef sirloin (thinly sliced)
  • 8 stalks green onions (cut into 2-inch pieces)
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium)
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon red chili flakes (optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a medium-sized bowl, combine the beef slices, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Mix well and let it marinate for 10 minutes.

Step 2

While the beef is marinating, prepare the green onions by cutting them into 2-inch pieces and mince the garlic and ginger.

Step 3

In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

Step 4

Add the marinated beef to the skillet in a single layer and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until it is browned but not fully cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

Step 5

In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic, ginger, and optional red chili flakes. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 6

Add the green onions to the skillet and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until they become slightly tender but still crisp.

Step 7

Return the beef to the skillet, along with the remaining 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, oyster sauce, and black pepper. Stir-fry everything together for an additional 2-3 minutes until the beef is cooked through and the green onions are fully softened.

Step 8

Remove from heat and serve immediately with steamed rice or quinoa for a complete high-protein meal.
