Ingredients

  • 200 g Shrimp
  • 100 g Firm Tofu
  • 2 stalks Green Onions
  • 1 tbsp Ginger
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil
  • 1 large Egg White
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.25 tsp White Pepper
  • 30 sheets Wonton Wrappers
  • 50 ml Water
  • 250 ml Cooking Oil (for frying, optional)

Directions

Step 1

Peel the shrimp and remove the tails. Finely chop the shrimp and place them in a mixing bowl.

Step 2

Drain and pat dry the tofu with paper towels. Crumble the tofu into the bowl with the shrimp.

Step 3

Finely chop the green onions and add them to the bowl.

Step 4

Peel and mince the ginger and garlic, then add them to the shrimp mixture.

Step 5

Add soy sauce, sesame oil, egg white, salt, and white pepper to the mixture. Mix well until all ingredients are combined and the mixture becomes sticky.

Step 6

Place a wonton wrapper in your hand. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of the filling into the center of the wrapper.

Step 7

Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water. Fold the wrapper in half to form a triangle, pressing the edges to seal.

Step 8

Bring the two opposite corners together and press firmly to seal with water, forming a classic wonton shape.

Step 9

Repeat the process with the remaining wrappers and filling.

Step 10

To steam: Prepare a steamer and bring water to a boil. Place wontons in a single layer on a greased steamer rack or parchment paper. Steam for 5-7 minutes, until the filling is cooked through.

Step 11

To fry (optional): Heat cooking oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Fry the wontons in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.

Step 12

Serve the wontons warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
