Ingredients

  • 60 grams unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 80 grams whey protein powder (chocolate flavor)
  • 100 grams almond flour
  • 10 grams baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 120 grams unsalted butter, softened
  • 150 grams granulated sugar
  • 5 ml vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 120 grams plain Greek yogurt
  • 100 grams semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a medium bowl, sift together the cocoa powder, whey protein powder, almond flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

Step 3

In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy using an electric mixer on medium speed, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 4

Add the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition until fully incorporated. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.

Step 5

Mix in the Greek yogurt until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

Step 6

Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed just until combined. Do not overmix.

Step 7

Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Step 8

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Step 10

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 11

Once cool, slice and serve. Enjoy your high-protein Schokokuchen!
