Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground duck meat
  • 1 egg
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 medium, finely chopped shallot
  • 2 cloves, minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons, chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 1 large, sliced tomato
  • 1 sliced avocado
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine the ground duck meat, egg, breadcrumbs, chopped shallot, minced garlic, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty about 1 inch thick.

Step 3

Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat and add olive oil.

Step 4

Once the oil is hot, add the duck patties. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

Step 5

While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns in a separate pan or on the grill.

Step 6

Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on the bottom half of each toasted bun.

Step 7

Assemble the burgers by placing a cooked duck patty on top of the mayonnaise, followed by a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato, and slices of avocado.

Step 8

Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
