Ingredients

  • 500 grams lean ground chicken
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 8 units whole wheat slider buns
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup baby spinach leaves
  • 1 unit tomato, sliced
  • 0.5 unit red onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 8 slices low-fat cheese slices

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your grill or a grill pan to medium-high heat.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, Greek yogurt, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Step 3

Divide the chicken mixture into 8 equal parts and shape each into a small patty.

Step 4

Brush the patties lightly with olive oil on both sides to prevent sticking on the grill.

Step 5

Place the patties onto the grill and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side or until fully cooked with an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

Step 6

In the last minute of cooking, top each patty with a slice of low-fat cheese and close the grill lid, allowing the cheese to melt.

Step 7

Toast the whole wheat slider buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes until they are lightly golden.

Step 8

Assemble each slider by placing a handful of baby spinach leaves on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a cooked chicken patty with melted cheese.

Step 9

Add a slice of tomato and a few slices of red onion.

Step 10

Finish with the top half of the bun and serve the sliders warm.
