Ingredients

  • 500 grams lean ground beef
  • 2 large eggs
  • 60 grams rolled oats
  • 30 ml low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 carrot, grated
  • 10 grams fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 puff pastry sheets
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, eggs, rolled oats, soy sauce, chopped onion, minced garlic, grated carrot, chopped parsley, black pepper, and salt. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Step 3

Unroll the puff pastry sheets onto a lightly floured surface and cut each sheet into rectangles, roughly 10 cm x 15 cm.

Step 4

Place a dollop of the beef mixture along one edge of the rectangle, spreading it out into a log shape but leaving a gap along the edges.

Step 5

Carefully roll the puff pastry over the beef mix, sealing the edges with a bit of water to form a roll. Ensure the seam is on the bottom.

Step 6

Use a sharp knife to cut each log into individual small rolls, roughly 5 cm in length.

Step 7

Arrange the rolls on the prepared baking sheet, seam side down. Brush the top of each roll with the beaten egg to create an egg wash for a glossy finish.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the beef is cooked through.

Step 9

Remove from the oven and let the rolls cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
