Ingredients

  • 12 oz High protein rotini pasta
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 lb Lean ground beef (95% lean)
  • 1 medium Onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 Red bell pepper, chopped
  • 28 oz Canned crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 1 tsp Dried oregano
  • 1 tsp Dried basil
  • 0.5 tsp Red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

Directions

Step 1

Fill a large pot with water, add a pinch of salt, and bring it to a boil. Add rotini pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and set aside.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 5 minutes, or until the onion becomes translucent.
