Ingredients

  • 500 grams Ground pork
  • 200 grams Napa cabbage
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 1 inch piece Ginger
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 2 stalks Green onions
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon White pepper
  • 1 large Egg
  • 40 pieces Dumpling wrappers
  • 1 cup Water

Directions

Step 1

Finely chop the napa cabbage and place it in a bowl. Add a pinch of salt, mix, and let it sit for 10 minutes to draw out moisture.

Step 2

Mince the garlic and ginger. Thinly slice the green onions and set aside.

Step 3

Gently squeeze the napa cabbage to remove excess moisture and add it to a large mixing bowl.

Step 4

To the cabbage, add the ground pork, minced garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, sliced green onions, salt, white pepper, and the egg. Mix thoroughly until all the ingredients are well combined.

Step 5

Lay a dumpling wrapper flat in your hand and place about 1 tablespoon of the pork mixture in the center.

Step 6

Wet the edges of the wrapper with a little water, then fold the wrapper in half over the filling to form a semi-circle. Press the edges to seal, making sure to expel any air.

Step 7

Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

Step 8

Heat a large pan over medium heat and add a tablespoon of oil. Arrange the dumplings in the pan, flat side down, and cook for about 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.

Step 9

Carefully add 1/4 cup of water to the pan, cover, and let the dumplings steam for 5 minutes or until the water has evaporated.

Step 10

Remove the lid and cook for another 1-2 minutes to crisp the bottoms once more.

Step 11

Serve the dumplings hot with your choice of dipping sauce, such as soy sauce, vinegar, or chili oil.
