Ingredients

  • 500 grams Paneer
  • 3 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 2 large, finely chopped Onions
  • 4 medium, pureed Tomatoes
  • 2 teaspoons Ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/4 cup, soaked and blended Cashew nuts
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon Kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
  • 1/4 cup Cream
  • 1 teaspoon or to taste Salt
  • 2 tablespoons, chopped Cilantro
  • 1/2 cup Water

Directions

Step 1

Cut the paneer into 1-inch cubes and set aside.

Step 2

Heat 1 tablespoon of butter and 1 tablespoon of oil in a large pan over medium heat.

Step 3

Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.

Step 4

Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 5

Add the pureed tomatoes and cook for 5-6 minutes until the oil starts to separate.

Step 6

Mix in the turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook for another 2 minutes.

Step 7

Add the blended cashew nuts paste and cook for 3 minutes. Ensure the mixture is well combined.

Pour in 1/2 cup of water and let the mixture simmer for around 5 minutes to integrate all flavors.

Add the paneer cubes and let them cook in the sauce for 5 minutes.

Stir in the remaining butter, cream, and garam masala. Mix gently to avoid breaking the paneer cubes.

Crush the kasuri methi between your palms and add it to the pan for enhanced aroma.
