Ingredients

  • 8 ounces Macaroni (whole wheat or high-protein)
  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 large Onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 14.5 ounces Diced tomatoes (canned)
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Dried basil
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Step 2

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil. Once heated, add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 7-8 minutes. Drain any excess fat if necessary.
