Ingredients

  • 500 g ground turkey
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.5 medium, finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves, minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 0.5 tsp sea salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.25 cup oat flour
  • 4 leaves lettuce leaves
  • 1 large, sliced tomato
  • 4 buns whole grain hamburger buns
  • 1 medium, sliced avocado

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, egg, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, Greek yogurt, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, sea salt, black pepper, and oat flour until all ingredients are mixed well.

Step 2

Divide the turkey mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty approximately 1 inch thick.

Step 3

Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Lightly coat with cooking spray or a small amount of olive oil to prevent sticking.

Step 4

Place the patties in the skillet and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the burgers are browned and cooked through.

Step 5

While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the whole grain hamburger buns in another skillet or in a toaster.

Step 6

Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Add the turkey patty, then top with sliced tomato and avocado.

Step 7

Cover with the top half of the bun and serve immediately. Optionally, add additional condiments like ketchup or mustard as desired.
