Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 8 large egg whites
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese slices

Directions

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, combine ground turkey with onion powder, garlic powder, dried sage, black pepper, and salt. Mix well and divide into 4 equal portions. Shape each portion into a round patty about the size of the palm of your hand.

Step 2

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and cook the sausage patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked through. Set aside.

Step 3

In a blender, combine rolled oats, baking powder, egg whites, milk, and 1 tablespoon of maple syrup. Blend until the mixture is smooth.

Step 4

Heat a griddle or non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly coat with a bit of coconut oil. Pour 1/4 cup of the pancake batter onto the griddle to form round pancakes.

Step 5

Cook for 2-3 minutes until bubbles form on the surface of the pancakes, then flip and cook for an additional 2 minutes. Repeat until all batter is used, making at least 8 pancakes.

Step 6

To assemble each McGriddle sandwich, place one pancake on a plate, top with a sausage patty, a slice of cheddar cheese, and drizzle with some of the remaining maple syrup. Cover with another pancake.

Step 7

Repeat for remaining sandwiches. Serve warm.
