Ingredients

  • 12 oz high protein spaghetti pasta
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb lean ground turkey
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic cloves, minced
  • 28 oz canned crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 0.25 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 6 leaves fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the high protein spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion and cook for 2-3 minutes until softened.

Step 3

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 4

Add the lean ground turkey to the skillet. Cook, breaking up with a spoon, until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 5

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, dried oregano, dried basil, crushed red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Reduce heat to low and let simmer, stirring occasionally, for 10-15 minutes to allow flavors to meld.

Step 6

Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet with the marinara sauce. Toss to coat the pasta evenly.

Step 7

Serve the pasta with grated Parmesan cheese and garnish with fresh basil leaves.

Step 8

Enjoy your high protein classic spaghetti with marinara sauce hot.
