Ingredients

  • 500 g Lean ground beef
  • 100 g Quinoa
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
  • 2 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 large Egg
  • 50 g Oat bran
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Directions

Step 1

Cook the quinoa by adding 100g of quinoa to 200ml of water in a saucepan. Bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover. Simmer for about 15 minutes or until the quinoa has absorbed the water and is fluffy. Let it cool slightly.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, cooked quinoa, chopped onion, minced garlic, and egg.

Step 3

Add the oat bran, chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce to the bowl. Mix everything well until completely combined.

Step 4

Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a round rissole, about 2 cm thick.

Step 5

Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.

Step 6

Add the rissoles to the pan, taking care not to overcrowd, and cook for approximately 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.

Step 7

Once cooked, remove the rissoles from the pan and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.

Step 8

Serve warm with your favorite sides such as mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a fresh salad.
