Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 0.5 cup protein powder (chocolate flavor)
  • 0.25 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 0.5 cup Greek yogurt (plain, non-fat)
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.25 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil (melted)
  • 0.5 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons stevia or preferred sweetener
  • 0.5 cup dark chocolate chips (for glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (for glaze)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a donut pan with non-stick cooking spray or line with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large bowl, whisk together the almond flour, protein powder, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and stevia.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs lightly. Add the Greek yogurt, honey, vanilla extract, almond milk, and melted coconut oil. Mix until well combined.

Step 4

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring smoothly until you have a thick, lump-free batter. Fold in the dark chocolate chips.

Step 5

Using a spoon or piping bag, fill each donut cavity about three-quarters full with the batter.

Step 6

Bake the donuts in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Step 7

Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 8

While the donuts are cooling, make the chocolate glaze. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.

Step 9

Dip the top of each cooled donut into the chocolate glaze and return to the wire rack. Let the glaze set before serving.
