Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.75 cup chocolate protein powder
  • 0.5 cup greek yogurt
  • 0.75 cup milk
  • 0.25 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup honey

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 12-cavity donut pan.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, and chocolate protein powder until well combined.

Step 3

In another bowl, mix the Greek yogurt, milk, melted coconut oil, egg, vanilla extract, and honey until smooth and well incorporated.

Step 4

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix.

Step 5

Transfer the batter into a piping bag or a plastic bag with the corner snipped off. Pipe the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full.

Step 6

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the donut comes out clean.

Step 7

Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 8

Optionally, glaze the donuts with a mixture of protein powder and a splash of milk or dust with powdered sugar before serving.
