Ingredients

  • 3 whole ripe bananas
  • 1 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup milk (preferably almond or skim)
  • 2 scoops vanilla protein powder
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons natural almond butter
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup fresh pineapple chunks
  • 1 tablespoon chopped walnuts
  • 2 tablespoons dark chocolate chips

Directions

Step 1

Peel and slice the bananas into small pieces and place them in a ziplock bag. Freeze the banana slices for at least 2 hours or until they are completely frozen.

Step 2

In a blender or food processor, combine the frozen banana slices, vanilla Greek yogurt, almond or skim milk, and vanilla protein powder. Blend until smooth, pausing to scrape down the sides as needed.

Step 3

Transfer half of the banana ice cream mixture into a separate bowl. Add unsweetened cocoa powder to the remaining mixture in the blender and blend until fully incorporated, creating a chocolate protein layer.

Step 4

In four serving bowls, layer the banana ice cream, chocolate protein ice cream, fresh strawberries, and fresh pineapple chunks.

Step 5

Drizzle each serving with natural almond butter and top with chopped walnuts and dark chocolate chips.

Step 6

Serve immediately for a refreshing treat or freeze for an additional 15-30 minutes if a firmer texture is preferred.
