Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 4 pieces Cheddar cheese slices
  • 4 slices Thick-cut bacon
  • 4 pieces Brioche burger buns
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 2 pieces Tomatoes (sliced)
  • 0.5 pieces Red onion (sliced into rings)
  • 4 leaves Leafy lettuce
  • 8 pieces Pickles (slices)
  • 4 tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 4 tablespoons Ketchup
  • 2 teaspoons Yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

Preheat a skillet or grill pan over medium heat.

Step 2

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Mix gently until just combined. Form the mixture into 4 equal patties, pressing a small dimple into the center of each to prevent puffing during cooking.

Step 3

Cook the bacon slices in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside on paper towels to drain.

Step 4

Heat the vegetable oil in the same skillet or grill pan. Add the beef patties and cook for 3-4 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking to let it melt. Remove the patties from heat and let them rest for 2-3 minutes.

Step 5

While the patties are resting, butter the inside of the brioche buns and toast them in a clean skillet or on the grill until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes.

Step 6

To assemble the Whopper Stopper, spread 1 tablespoon each of mayonnaise and ketchup on the bottom half of each bun. Add a lettuce leaf, followed by a tomato slice, a beef patty with melted cheese, and a slice of crispy bacon. Layer 2 pickle slices and a few rings of red onion. Top it off with a drizzle of yellow mustard and the top half of the brioche bun.

Step 7

Serve immediately with your favorite sides, such as fries or a fresh salad, and enjoy!
