Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons yellow onion, finely grated
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 pieces hamburger buns
  • 4 pieces lettuce leaves
  • 4 pieces sliced tomatoes
  • 4 rings sliced red onions (optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, parsley, basil, chives, minced garlic, grated onion, Dijon mustard, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Step 2

Gently mix the ingredients using your hands or a spoon until just combined. Be careful not to overmix as this can make the burgers dense.

Step 3

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about ½ inch thick.

Step 4

Heat olive oil in a large skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Alternatively, preheat an outdoor grill to medium heat and lightly oil the grates.

Step 5

Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Avoid pressing down on the patties to retain their juiciness.

Step 6

While the patties are cooking, toast the hamburger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster, if desired.

Step 7

Assemble the burgers by placing each cooked turkey patty on the bottom half of a bun. Top with lettuce, sliced tomatoes, and red onions (if using). Add other condiments such as mayonnaise, ketchup, or mustard according to preference.

Step 8

Cover with the top half of the bun and serve immediately with a side of your favorite salad, fries, or chips.
