Ingredients

  • 250 grams spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 pieces garlic cloves
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1 cup fresh parsley
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme
  • 0.5 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook until al dente, according to package instructions. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.

Step 2

Meanwhile, peel and finely chop the garlic cloves.

Step 3

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.

Add the red pepper flakes to the skillet and cook for an additional 30 seconds.

Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat in the garlic oil mixture.

Stir in the reserved pasta water, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Toss well to combine and to coat the pasta evenly with the herbs.
