Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Drain and rinse the navy beans, and set them aside.
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to cool. Once cooled, crumble it into small pieces and set aside.
Using the same skillet with the bacon grease, sauté the diced onion and green bell pepper until softened, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, combine ketchup, brown sugar, molasses, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir until well mixed.
Add the navy beans, sautéed onion and bell pepper, and crumbled bacon into the bowl with the sauce mixture. Mix gently but thoroughly to coat all ingredients.
Transfer the mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish and spread it out evenly.
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour.
After 1 hour, remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 20-30 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened and the top is slightly caramelized.
Remove the baked beans from the oven and let them cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired, and serve warm as a side dish or over toast as a main course.
