Ingredients

  • 6 cups (peeled and sliced) Fresh peaches
  • 0.5 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon Ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup Old-fashioned oats
  • 0.5 cup All-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup (packed) Brown sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 6 tablespoons (cold and cubed) Unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 optional (for serving) Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream

Directions

Step 1

Grease the inside of your slow cooker with butter or nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.

Step 2

In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, granulated sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract. Stir until the peaches are evenly coated, then pour the mixture into the greased crock pot.

Step 3

In a separate medium bowl, prepare the crisp topping by combining the oats, flour, brown sugar, and salt.

Step 4

Add the cubed butter to the topping mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work the butter into the dry ingredients until it resembles coarse crumbs.

Step 5

Evenly sprinkle the topping mixture over the peaches in the crock pot.

Step 6

Cover the slow cooker with the lid and set it to low heat. Cook for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the peaches are tender and bubbling and the topping is golden and crisp.

Step 7

Once done, remove the lid and let the peach crisp cool slightly for 10-15 minutes to allow the filling to set.

Step 8

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for the perfect indulgent dessert.
