Ingredients

  • 2 cups Raw mixed nuts (almonds, walnuts, pecans, cashews, etc.)
  • 3 tablespoons Pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon Ground cayenne pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.25 teaspoon Sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon Unsweetened apple juice

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat for easy cleanup.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the maple syrup, ground cinnamon, cayenne pepper, vanilla extract, sea salt, and apple juice. Whisk together until well combined to form a sticky glaze.

Step 3

Add the raw mixed nuts to the bowl and toss until they are evenly coated with the glaze.

Step 4

Spread the coated nuts in a single layer onto the prepared baking sheet, ensuring there is some space between them to prevent clumping.

Step 5

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, stirring once halfway through cooking to promote even caramelization.

Step 6

Remove the nuts from the oven and let them cool completely on the baking sheet. The glaze will harden as the nuts cool, forming a crunchy coating.

Step 7

Once cooled, break apart any clusters. Transfer the candied nuts to an airtight container for storage. They will keep for up to 2 weeks at room temperature.
