Ingredients

  • 1 bunch (about 1 lb) Broccoli rabe
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 0.25 teaspoon Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 0.5 cup Water

Directions

Step 1

Wash the broccoli rabe thoroughly under cold water to remove any dirt or grit. Trim about 1 inch off the ends of the stalks as they can be tough and discard.

Step 2

Peel and thinly slice the garlic cloves. Set aside.

Step 3

In a large sauté pan or skillet with a lid, add 0.5 cups of water and bring it to a boil over medium-high heat.

Once the water is boiling, add the broccoli rabe to the pan. Cover the pan with the lid and steam it for 4-5 minutes, or until the leaves are tender and bright green, and the stems are just softened.

Carefully remove the broccoli rabe from the pan using tongs and place it on a plate. Drain any excess water from the pan.
