Ingredients

  • 500 grams lean beef sirloin
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger
  • 1 medium red bell pepper
  • 200 grams broccoli florets
  • 2 medium carrots
  • 150 grams sugar snap peas
  • 100 milliliters low-sodium beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Directions

Step 1

Begin by slicing the lean beef sirloin into thin strips, setting them aside in a bowl.

Step 2

In a mixing bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil with 3 tablespoons of low-sodium soy sauce. Mince the 3 cloves of garlic and grate 1 tablespoon of fresh ginger, adding them to the marinade.

Step 3

Pour the marinade over the beef strips, ensuring they are well-coated. Allow them to sit and marinate while you prepare the vegetables.

Step 4

Wash and slice the red bell pepper into thin strips. Cut the broccoli into small florets. Peel and julienne the carrots. Rinse the sugar snap peas and trim any tough ends.

Step 5

In a large non-stick skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef strips and cook until they are browned and cooked through, approximately 5-6 minutes. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

Step 6

In the same skillet, add another 1 tablespoon of olive oil and increase the heat to high. Add the sliced red bell pepper, broccoli florets, carrots, and sugar snap peas. Stir-fry the vegetables for about 5-6 minutes until they are tender-crisp.

Step 7

Return the beef strips to the skillet with the vegetables. In a small bowl, mix 100 milliliters of low-sodium beef broth with 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, stirring until smooth. Pour this mixture into the skillet.

Step 8

Sprinkle 0.5 teaspoons of black pepper into the skillet and stir everything together, allowing the sauce to thicken and coat the beef and vegetables.

Step 9

Once the sauce has thickened, sprinkle 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds over the dish and give it a final stir.

Step 10

Serve the Heart-Healthy Rindfleisch Streifen hot, ideally with a side of brown rice or quinoa for a complete heart-healthy meal.
