Ingredients

  • 2 cups Whole wheat flour
  • 1 packet Quick-rise yeast
  • 1 cup Warm water
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 cup Part-skim mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 0.25 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Ground flaxseed
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water, yeast, honey, and olive oil. Stir gently and let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.

Step 3

Add whole wheat flour, salt, garlic powder, and ground flaxseed to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough begins to form.

Step 4

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. If the dough is sticky, add a bit more flour as needed.

Step 5

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for approximately 30 minutes or until doubled in size.

Step 6

Once risen, punch down the dough to release air. Transfer the dough to the prepared baking sheet and shape it into a flat rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.

Step 7

Evenly sprinkle the surface of the dough with the mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and melted.

Step 9

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before cutting.

Step 10

Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve warm.
