Ingredients

  • 12 ounces lean sirloin steak
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 6 cups mixed salad greens
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 medium cucumber, sliced
  • 0.25 medium red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium avocado, sliced

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

Step 2

In a small bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar, olive oil, honey, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt to create the vinaigrette.

Step 3

Pat the steak dry with paper towels and brush lightly with some of the vinaigrette for added flavor.

Step 4

Place the steak on the hot grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until medium-rare or your desired level of doneness.

Step 5

Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain.

Step 6

While the steak is resting, place mixed salad greens onto a large serving platter or dish.

Step 7

Top the greens with cherry tomatoes, cucumber slices, red onion, and avocado slices.

Step 8

Arrange the sliced steak over the salad.

Step 9

Drizzle the remaining vinaigrette over the entire salad just before serving.

Step 10

Serve immediately and enjoy your heart-healthy meal.
