  • 500 g Extra-lean ground turkey
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 Medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 Celery stalk, finely chopped
  • 500 ml Low-sodium chicken broth
  • 50 g Whole wheat flour
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 0.25 tsp Nutmeg
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 150 g Whole wheat breadcrumbs
  • 3 Egg whites
  • 1 as needed Cooking spray

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and celery, sautéing until they become translucent and soft, about 5 minutes.

Step 3

Add the ground turkey to the skillet, cooking and stirring until fully browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat from the pan.

Stir in the flour and cook for another 2 minutes, allowing the flour to blend with the meat.

Slowly add the chicken broth while stirring continuously to prevent lumps. Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer until it thickens, about 10 minutes.
