Ingredients

  • 4 medium Russet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

Wash and scrub the russet potatoes thoroughly to remove any dirt. Pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.

Step 3

Cut the potatoes into even-sized sticks, about 1/4-inch thick, to ensure they cook evenly.

Step 4

Place the potato sticks in a large bowl and fill with cold water. Let them soak for at least 10 minutes to remove excess starch and make them crispier.

Step 5

While the potatoes are soaking, finely chop fresh parsley and set it aside for garnishing.

Step 6

Drain the potatoes and pat them completely dry with a kitchen towel. Make sure they are as dry as possible.

Step 7

In a large mixing bowl, combine the dry potatoes, extra virgin olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Toss everything together until the fries are evenly coated with the seasoning and oil.

Step 8

Arrange the seasoned potato sticks in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Ensure they are not overcrowded to allow even cooking.

Step 9

Bake the fries in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, flip the fries over using a spatula to ensure even crisping.

Step 10

Return to the oven and bake for another 15-20 minutes or until the fries are golden brown and crispy.

Step 11

Once done, remove the fries from the oven and let them cool slightly. Sprinkle with the fresh parsley for a pop of color and additional flavor.

Step 12

Serve the heart-healthy crispy baked potato fries immediately as a side dish or snack. Enjoy the guilt-free deliciousness!
