Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 8 pieces whole wheat slider buns
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley
  • 4 slices low-fat cheddar cheese
  • 8 pieces lettuce leaves
  • 1 medium tomato
  • 1 small red onion
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine lean ground beef with onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, finely chopped fresh parsley, salt, and black pepper.

Step 2

Mix gently with your hands until all ingredients are well integrated, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Step 3

Divide the beef mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a small patty, about 2 1/2 inches in diameter.

Step 4

Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add the beef patties.

Step 5

Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F.

Step 6

During the last minute of cooking, place half a slice of low-fat cheddar cheese on each patty and cover the skillet loosely with foil to melt the cheese.

Step 7

While the patties are cooking, prepare the toppings by slicing the tomato and red onion thinly.

Step 8

To assemble, place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each whole wheat slider bun.

Step 9

Top with a beef patty, a slice of tomato, and a few rings of red onion.

Step 10

Cover with the other half of the slider bun and serve immediately.
