Ingredients

  • 1 pound extra-lean ground turkey
  • 4 buns whole grain burger buns
  • 4 slices low-fat cheddar cheese slices
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 tomato large tomato, sliced
  • 4 leaves romaine lettuce leaves
  • 0.5 onion red onion, thinly sliced
  • 0.25 cup low-fat plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 as needed olive oil spray

Directions

Step 1

In a medium bowl, combine the extra-lean ground turkey, Worcestershire sauce, and ground black pepper. Mix gently until well combined.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties.

Step 3

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and lightly spray with olive oil spray.

Step 4

Cook the turkey patties in the skillet for about 5 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.

Step 5

While the patties are cooking, heat another non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the turkey bacon slices and cook for about 4-5 minutes until crisp, flipping occasionally.

Step 6

When the patties are nearly done, place a slice of low-fat cheddar cheese on each patty, covering with a lid to help the cheese melt.

Step 7

While the patties rest, mix the low-fat plain Greek yogurt with Dijon mustard in a small bowl to create a creamy sauce.

Step 8

To assemble the burgers, spread the yogurt mustard sauce on the bottom half of each whole grain burger bun.

Step 9

Place the lettuce leaf on the bottom bun, followed by the turkey patty with melted cheese, a slice of turkey bacon, tomato slice, and red onion.

Step 10

Finish with the top half of the bun and serve immediately for the best taste.
