  • 2 tablespoons Chili powder
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 15 ounces Black beans, canned and rinsed
  • 0.25 cup Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper, freshly ground
  • 4 Lime wedges, for serving

Directions

Step 1

Heat the olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat.

Step 2

Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 5 minutes, until it begins to soften.
