Rinse the brown rice under cold water until the water runs clear. This helps remove any excess starch and prevents the rice from becoming too sticky.
In a large saucepan, combine the rinsed brown rice and 4 cups of water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let it simmer for about 35-40 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the mixture is slightly thickened.
