Ingredients

  • 400 grams Lean ground turkey
  • 4 pcs Whole grain burger buns
  • 4 pcs Eggs
  • 60 grams Fresh baby spinach
  • 1 large Tomato
  • 1 medium Avocado
  • 0.5 medium Red onion
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, combine the lean ground turkey with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are integrated.

Step 2

Divide the turkey mixture into 4 equal parts and shape each part into a patty about 1 cm thick.

Step 3

Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat and add half of the olive oil. Once hot, add the turkey patties and cook for 5-6 minutes on each side or until fully cooked through and browned.

Step 4

While the patties are cooking, slice the tomato, avocado, and red onion thinly. Set aside.

Step 5

In another non-stick pan, heat the remaining olive oil over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the pan carefully, ensuring the yolk remains intact. Cook until the white is set, and the yolk reaches your desired level of doneness (about 3-4 minutes for a runny yolk).

Step 6

Toast the whole grain burger buns lightly.

Step 7

To assemble the burgers, start with the bottom bun, add a turkey patty, a handful of fresh baby spinach, and slices of tomato, avocado, and red onion.

Step 8

Top with a cooked egg, season with a touch of salt and pepper, and cover with the top bun.

Step 9

Serve immediately and enjoy your heart-healthy burger with egg!
