Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground turkey (93% lean)
  • 4 pieces Whole wheat hamburger buns
  • 4 slices Reduced-sodium turkey bacon
  • 8 ounces Fresh mushrooms
  • 4 slices Reduced-fat Pepper Jack cheese
  • 1 small Red onion
  • 1 cup Fresh spinach leaves
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, mix ground turkey, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt until well combined. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties.

Step 2

Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the turkey patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F.

Step 3

While the burgers are cooking, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in another skillet over medium heat. Add the turkey bacon slices and cook until crispy, about 5-6 minutes. Remove and set aside on a paper towel to drain excess oil.

Step 4

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and add the mushrooms. Sauté for about 5 minutes until they are tender and slightly golden brown.
