Ingredients

  • 200 grams Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 120 ml Heavy cream
  • 100 grams Nutella
  • 100 grams Hazelnuts (toasted and finely chopped)
  • 30 grams Unsweetened cocoa powder

Directions

Step 1

Begin by finely chopping the semi-sweet chocolate chips and placing them in a medium-sized heatproof bowl.

Step 2

In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to steam and small bubbles form around the edges. Do not let it boil.

Step 3

Pour the heated cream over the chopped chocolate. Let it sit for 2-3 minutes to allow the chocolate to soften, then stir gently until the mixture becomes smooth and glossy.

Step 4

Add the Nutella to the melted chocolate mixture, stirring until fully incorporated. This will create a rich ganache.

Step 5

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2-3 hours, or until the ganache is firm enough to scoop.

Step 6

While the ganache chills, toast the hazelnuts (if they are not pre-toasted) in a dry skillet over medium heat for 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently. Once fragrant, let them cool and finely chop them.

Step 7

Prepare a shallow dish with the unsweetened cocoa powder, and another shallow dish with the chopped hazelnuts. These will be your coating options for the truffles.

Step 8

Using a small cookie scoop or a teaspoon, scoop out small portions of the chilled ganache and roll them into round balls with your hands.

Step 9

Roll each truffle in either the cocoa powder or the chopped hazelnuts, ensuring they are evenly coated. Place the coated truffles on a parchment-lined tray.

Step 10

Once all truffles have been rolled and coated, refrigerate them for another 15-20 minutes to firm up.

Step 11

Serve the truffles chilled or at room temperature. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
